The glass and glazing trade is in the employment spotlight! Thanks to NGA partner organizations like the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) and the New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions, the glazing trade is getting the recognition and promotion it deserves.

With the growing demand for skilled workers in the construction industry, promoting and marketing the glazing trade is crucial. The Build Your Future campaign—powered by the passionate people at NCCER—is actively supporting the trade with articles like Top 5 Reasons to Become a Glazier, highlighting the industry’s job security and potential for career development. Similarly, the New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions has created a new video that showcases how becoming a glazier has completely changed a life for the better, describing benefits and opportunities the trade provides for both personal and professional growth, as well as the benefits of apprenticeship

These efforts have three goals:

  1. Increase awareness about the glazing trade.
  2. Attract new talent to the field to meet the needs of our industry.
  3. Showcase a rewarding career that too few know about.

By banding together to raise awareness and cheer on this industry any way we can—whether it be an article, a video, a webpage, a career fair, the ideas are endless—we can infuse our trade with the workforce it needs to keep thriving!
